Because of her housing woes, Alisa is moving in with us. She was sad to leave her brown room, so to cheer her up, we said she could paint the room she’ll be living in. We just had to get the wallpaper down first. Well, she took a lot of initiative there and got some friends together and they came over to take down the wallpaper today. Let me just say that this is the best deal ever, someone else taking down the wallpaper in our house. My mother gave thanks to the Good Lord Above that she did not have to come help us with wallpaper again.
Here is what the room looked like. Little old lady wallpaper.

Please ignore the pile of disorganization in the closet. We haven’t really been using that room for anything. Which is why we told Alisa she should move in.
They started taking down the wallpaper. And. Y’ALL. I can’t deal with it.

Y’ALL. The walls underneath ARE TURQUOISE. THAT IS PAINT AND THOSE WALLS ARE TURQUOISE!!
I know I should wait and show you this room when Alisa has made her final transformation, but I just can’t help it. TURQUOISE. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN? Our poor house.
Mike and I were just talking about it, and between the paneling and the brick in the sunroom and the carpeted dining room and the beige-on-beige action in the front room there was not a single room in this house that wasn’t completely crazy in some way. In Alisa’s new room, we thought the wallpaper was the extent of it, but LOOK HOW WRONG WE WERE.

Who knows what else we will find as we attempt to rescue this house from the crazy that it has been steeped in for so many years? (Please tell me this is the last crazy thing we will find. Lie to me if you must.)
In other news, Big Bunny still hates us, but she offers the rest of you her happiest belated holiday wishes. (Bunnies really prefer Easter, since they feature much more prominently.)

I’ll lie to you, Kari. It’s the last weird thing! I promise.
I think it’s cool that y’all are letting Alisa live there! Now I don’t have to ask for her new address, hehehehehe.
that’s such a happy color!
(Merry Christmas to you too Big Bunny!)
poor poor house – it’s almost as bad as our PEACH walls that were in our crazy house. and i know those mittens – starbucks gift card holders, right? maddie stuffed her hands into them and wore them around as mittens last week. i’m sure big bunny loves starbucks.
Indeed, they did hold Starbucks gift cards. I was happy when we got the second one, because Big Bunny needed a matching set.
Big Bunny is only allowed to drink decaf.
Turquoise is bad, but I have to say that I’m not sure it beats my textured-navy-blue-with-gold-sparkles kitchen, or my textured-BABY-blue-with-gold-sparkles bathroom. Which were not even hidden!!
It’s like that room was used as a tiny mental institution before you moved in. I’m sure i’ll get a good look at that room very soon.
Perhaps Sheriff Hege painted it the lovely turquoise shade.
what will we find under the wallpaper in the bathroom? Oh yeah folks, there is wallpaper IN THE BATHROOM. There wont be much longer if I have my way.
I’ve twice lived with a married couple and it’s my favorite living situation ever. We always had such a blast, but there was no pressure to hang out like I’ve felt with roommates before.
Anyway, enjoy this time! Sounds like so much fun!
