When I had mono, we went to Sonic to get me a slushee because there were daggers in my throat (I mean, seriously, the worst sore throat I have ever had). And I had a slushee and some tots. And then I got really really sick to my stomach for about a day and a half. I couldn't keep anything down. It was awful. It was probably the mono's fault, but you know how it is when you eat somewhere and then you get violently ill. Sonic now gives me the heebie jeebies.

Must be a local thing, because the Sonics I drove past were definitely closed on Thursday as I was making my way back home, as was everything else but service stations and hospitals.
