I am not left-handed, either.

We’re doing a Secret Santa thing at work, and I drew one of our Assistant Principals. (I run with several different crowds at work, because the media specialist must be all things to all people. This is the front office crowd.) This particular Assistant Principal is a man, and I was kind of at a loss for what to buy him. There was a book I wanted to buy him because he is a history buff and a Revolutionary War reenactor, but it is apparently sold out everywhere. I am still surprised that that can happen in this day and age. With electronics, sure, but a book? Really? (I will take this opportunity to say that you should give books this year, because, as I have read elsewhere, a scented candle never changed anyone’s life.)

Anyway, I had to change tactics. The other thing I know about him is that he is left-handed. I managed to find something appropriate that I will not mention here in case my brother is reading this, and I have also created for him a mix CD of awesome, a CD of left-handed artists. I present the track listing for you here.

“Left is Right: A Collection of Left-Handed Artists”

1. “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” by Ella Fitzgerald (She’s not left-handed, but Cole Porter was.)
2. “Wonderwall” by Oasis (Noel Gallagher is the lefty in this band.)
3. “Got to Get You Into My Life” by The Beatles (Written by Paul McCartney, left-hander.)
4. “The Only Living Boy in New York” by Simon & Garfunkel (Paul Simon is a lefty.)
5. “Man on the Moon” by R.E.M. (Michael Stipe is a lefty.)
6. “Your Long Journey” by Robert Plant with Alison Kraus (Robert Plant is the left-handed one.)
7. “Romeo and Juliet” by Dire Straits (Mark Knopfler is left-handed.)
8. “All Apologies” by Nirvana (Kurt Cobain was left-handed.)
9. “1979” by Smashing Pumpkins (Billy Corgan is a lefty.)
10. “Purple Haze” by Jimi Hendrix
11. “Bye Bye Love” by the Everly Brothers (Both brothers are left-handed.)
12. “You Can’t Hurry Love” by Phil Collins
13. “Birdhouse in Your Soul” by They Might Be Giants (John Flansburgh is left-handed.)
14. “Sweet Dreams are Made of This” by Eurythmics (Annie Lennox is a lefty.)

I kind of think this is an awesome mix anyway. I hope he likes it.
