WOW Kari! I never expected that one! I apologize to your boy student. I liked Simon too. The author is actually going to write a fourth book for the trilogy (!!!!) mostly on Simon, but it won't be out for a year or two. She is starting another shadowhunters series that is set back in the 1800's, London, I think.

Nan: It's actually a boy. I ranted to him yesterday about how much I like Simon already and how I can tell it's going to be like the Jacob thing. He just kind of looked at me. It was awesome.

I've read 12 of them. About 8 of those 12 I didn't enjoy AT ALL. But.. they definitely influenced literature. I was pleased to see some very familiar names on the list too - Just introduced two friends to Alexander McCall Smith.

Your middle schooler just wants you to love Jace! HaHa! The Mortal Instruments Trilogy was good, in the sense that I read for entertainment, not from a literary something stand point. I always enjoy reading your take on books. Have fun!

My number is astonishingly embarrassing: 3. It was an interesting list and I simply cannot believe Jade's autobiography made the list. THAT is more astonishingly embarrassing than my measly 3 books (Twilight and Harry Potter are not among the 3 titles, by the way).

I've read 14, though there are several more on my 'short list' as well. Which is decent, considering that a lot of my reading tends to be older books.
